Judged on contribution, and nothing else.
Aetheric is a New Zealand engineering practice with a team that works across APAC, MENA and West Africa. Our work draws on people from many backgrounds, cultures, and professional disciplines, and we treat that range as a genuine strength rather than a statement of intent. This policy sets out how we build and sustain a fair and inclusive workplace, and it applies to every member of the Aetheric team and to everyone who represents the company in a professional capacity.
We are committed to a workplace where people are judged on the quality of their contribution and nothing else. We believe better engineering comes from a team that brings different perspectives to the same problem, and we build our culture accordingly. That commitment runs through how we recruit, how we develop our people, and how we treat everyone we work with.
We recruit, develop, and promote on merit. We do not tolerate discrimination on the basis of gender, ethnicity, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law. Decisions about who we hire and how people progress are based on capability, contribution, and potential.
Every colleague, client, and partner is entitled to be treated with respect. Harassment, bullying, and intimidation have no place at Aetheric, in any forum, whether online or in person. We communicate directly and honestly, and we disagree without hostility. Constructive challenge is welcome; personal attack is not.
As a remote-first company, we take deliberate steps to make inclusion real across distance and time zones. Being distributed can either widen access or quietly exclude people, and we work to ensure it does the former.
Anyone who experiences or witnesses conduct that falls short of this policy can raise it without fear of reprisal. Concerns are taken seriously, handled fairly, and treated with appropriate confidence. A policy that people cannot safely invoke is worth nothing, and we hold our leaders responsible for upholding it in practice, not merely endorsing it.
This policy reflects the standards we hold ourselves to today and intend to strengthen as the practice grows. It is reviewed periodically and updated as we develop. Questions about how it applies in a particular situation are always welcome. You can read more about how we work in our Workplace Policy.
